A selection of student projects I made at Shillington College in 2010. Our assignments were presented as real world briefs with the teachers playing the role of clients. This helped us adapt our thinking and working discipline to match what we were about to encounter out there.
Brief: Arts, culture and lifestyle magazine. A quarterly magazine comprising different topics, from music to fashion and books. It needed to be smart and feel unique and special to the reader, so I chose the name Credo (Creed) to reinforce the notion that the articles are a statement of principles. A small military-esque badge on the top left corner would change on every issue, “ranking up” thus making the magazine more unique and special to the eyes of the public.

Brief: Hand created book cover. The main objective was to use design principles, color theory, lateral thinking and typography away from the influence of the computer. I chose José Saramago’s “Blindness”, which portrays a distopian world where everybody except one woman turns suddenly blind.
I picked a picture of a mass of people wandering in a street (a common scene in the book) and glued bits of white paper to their eyes, except for one woman which is supposed to be the main character in the plot. Then I blindfolded myself and handwrote both title, spine and back cover texts.
Brief: Fashion festival. Unseen was part of the 2010 London Fashion Week and it showcased the best of UK’s young fashion designers amidst the vibrant Brick Lane Area. We had to design a style/look to promote the event and apply it to a range of promotional material: brochures, wristbands, id badges, etc.
Fashion festival: postcard, wristbands, id badges and process.
Brief: Watches advert. Two adverts, each one of them focused on one watch, directed to a young demographic with an interest in contemporary pop and street culture. We just had the target constraint so we could go crazy in order to create something dynamic and visually arresting.

Brief: Tea Packaging. Three different types of tea, the main purpose of the brief was to create a strong, unified brand through its packaging.

Brief: Museum of Contemporary Art flyers. Two sided flyers using only two colors to advertise the organization’s venues available for hire.
Brief: Property agents branding. Logo, typography, colors and collateral for a small property agency.
Property agents branding: Compliment note, business card and sheets.
Brief: Pzifer Annual Report. The title of the report was “Doing things differently” and the client wanted an unique execution according to the title, something experimental that remains clear and legible and mantains a strong corporate feel.

Brief: DL Brochure for a State Library. With budget constraints in mind we had to layout easy to read information using only two colours and no extra material such as stitches or glue.
